TEXAS STATE CONVENTION

"A Time for all Seasons and Sisters" September 17-19, 2021 Chair of Saturday Morning Season - "Summer"

We really had fun making our trombones out of PVC Pipe and designing and performing the opening for the Convention.

HOUSTON CITY COUNCIL

Our chapter is very active with Houston City Council, as we have many past presidents; and, we also usually chair one of the major council events each year. We currently have 1 member serving on HCC's Executive Board Treasurer, Carolyn Brassard

CHAPTER

HISTORY

1995 (August 9) - Preceptor Eta Chi and Preceptor Nu Alpha merged together with 11 members and became Preceptor Xi Iota. 2002 (April 15) - The chapter progressed in mass to Laureate Theta Pi 2014 (September 4) - The chapter progressed in mass to Epsilon Phi Master. However, some of the members had been together for a number of years.

FUN TIMES

Our chapter has many fun times. We meet twice a month; because we like seeing each other often and plan a social each month with our husbands. We promote many service projects each year and have a great Ways & Means in the chapter selling Beta Sigma Phi pins, necklaces and earrings that we design. We also have loads of fun with our Traveling Basket raffle each meeting and White Elephant Auction each year.

EVERY OTHER YEAR, WE TAKE TURNS WITH OUR CHAPTER AND TORCHBEARER OMEGA AND ENTERTAIN OUR GROUPS AND HUSBANDS. In 2021, we had a Mexican Fiesta at Alice and Reggie White's and played Mexican Bingo.
In 2022, Torchbearer Omega had a Roaring 20's Speak Easy Mystery Party at Pam Marshall's Home

YEARLY SEMINAR NIGHT

Each year during the first week of June the members gather for Seminar Night. Sometimes it has been a weekend away or just an evening of supper and planning. Each chapter committee meets and comes up with plans for the entire year. We plan and vote on all functions for the year, and list them in our next yearbook and calendar. We also go over our by-laws, familiarizing or making changes if needed.
